TSE Employee Being "Good Neighbor," Providing Free Shoes to Children in Need

Updated: Nov 30, 2018

TSE Sr. Systems Engineer Rodney McClean has more than 40 years of engineering experience with multi-million dollar transit projects. But perhaps the one project closest to his heart is one for which he is a volunteer, not an engineer.

Rod has been involved with an organization that distributes shoes to underprivileged children. Rod and a team of other volunteers have helped deliver hundreds of shoes to students in schools in low-income areas of California. Sometimes the volunteers, working with the nonprofit Northern Pacific Latin American District faith-based organization, can distribute over 300 shoes at one event.

Recently, Rod and others brought dozens of shoes to First Street School in Lincoln, CA. And, judging by the photos from the event, the kids loved their new shoes!

TSE encourages its employees to engage in their local communities through the company's Good Neighbor program, which makes a donation to various employee charitable efforts every quarter.

If you're interested in making a donation to the organization behind the free shoes distribution, you can make a check out to N.P.L.A.D. (Northern Pacific Latin American District) and mail it to the attention of Lee and Christine Ramos at:

P.O. Box 3235

Rocklin, CA 95677

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area city of Emeryville, with satellite offices nationwide, TSE is a global provider of transit system solutions. You can learn about several other TSE projects here.
